My goal is to help students turn their frustrations into their biggest strengths—and joy.

Lessons with me aren’t about playing it safe—they’re about playing with purpose. We dig into what makes your flute playing actually move people—whether that’s unlocking emotional expression, mastering a gorgeous sound across all registers, or developing rock-solid technique.

 

If you’ve ever felt held back by performance anxiety—and let’s be real, most of us have—we’ll talk about it openly and without judgment. You’ll learn to perform with confidence, freedom, and real presence.

Together, we’ll explore a wide spectrum of tone colors, dynamic contrast, and emotional nuance. But beyond that, my goal is to help you become a more independent musician—someone who can think critically, make bold artistic choices, and bring their full self to the music.

Yes, this work can be intense, but it’s also full of discovery and humor. Let’s work together to find and hone your distinctly courageous voice—one that’s unmistakably yours.

 

At GMU, I work with students who are:

• Pursuing a performance or teaching career and enrolled in a BM, MM, or DMA program

• Music Education majors

• Non-music majors or music minors who are enthusiastic about improving their flute playing alongside other degree program.
